The Imperial Porcelain Factory 1744 St. Petersburg is one of the oldest factories in Europe in porcelain production. The crucial stages of the formation of the Lomonosov Porcelain Factory as a worldwide porcelain factory:
- 1744 – on Elizabeth Petrovna’s errand Nikolay Korf contracted with Christofor Gunger to form Neva Porcelin Factory. Gunger was assigned to the improving of porcelain production. His assistant became Dmitry Vinogradov. However, Christofor had made a lot of terrible mistakes in the factory’s organisation. So instead of him was appointed Vinogradov as a manager. For 10 years he had been improving the issuance of white porcelain. The factory started producing snuffboxes and small tablewares massively.
- 1765 – the factory was renamed the Imperial Porcelain Manufactory and given an assignment “to provide the entire Russia with porcelain”. The Imperial Porcelain Manufactory started producing art items, for instance, the series of sculptures “The folks of Russian Estate”, sets “Arabesque”, “Cabinetsky”, “Yachting”.
- 1925 – the Imperial Porcelain Manufactory got a new name “Leningrad Lomonosov Porcelain Factory”. The production of exquisite porcelain of the Lomonosov Porcelain Factory was going by slogan “The art in everyday life”. In the 30s and onward, there are a lot of names of the artists who were working in the Lomonosov Porcelain Factory, like Anna Yatskevich, Serafima Yakovleva, Aleksey Vorobyovskiy, Luidmila Protopova.
- From 2005 the Lomonosov Porcelain Factory was renamed again the Imperial Porcelain Manufactory. However, without regard to the name, the manufactory had been producing the tablewares that had an amazing beauty at all time.
